Wavy edge of seashore!

Every time while looking at sea's waves, I remember my professor, Dr. Raeesi's explanations about the meaning of phase velocity and group velocity.
He said: if you close your eyes and listen to sound of waves reaching to the seashore, you will find out that a special sound repeats frequently, that's because the peak of waves colliding to different parts of the beach in turn. This is group velocity...
